Job Summary
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and creative Head Chef to lead the culinary offering at an exclusive farm in the Franschhoek Valley. This intimate property is renowned for its immersive, farm-to-table philosophy, where sustainability, seasonality, and storytelling are at the forefront of the guest experience. Key Responsibilities Oversee and manage all kitchen operations, ensuring seamless daily service Conceptualise and execute innovative, seasonal menus rooted in a farm-to-table ethos Maintain strict control of food costs, stock, and supplier relationships Lead; mentor, and inspire a small, dedicated kitchen team Uphold the highest standards of hygiene, safety, and kitchen compliance Deliver consistently exceptional and memorable dining experiences Collaborate closely with the wider team to enhance the overall guest experience Requirements Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef within a luxury hospitality environment Strong background in fine dining, boutique hotels, or high-end farm/lodge settings A genuine passion for seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and sustainable cuisine Exceptional leadership and organisational skills Solid understanding of kitchen administration, costing, and controls Ability to thrive in a high-standard, detail-driven environment Package Salary: R45 000 – R55 000 (dependent on experience) Live-out position If you are a forward-thinking chef with a deep appreciation for provenance-driven cuisine and are looking to lead a kitchen within one of South Africa’s most inspiring culinary destinations, we would love to hear from you.
