Operations Shift Supervisor

The Opportuity
We are seeking skilled and proactive Shift Supervisors to lead and control warehouse operations during an assigned shift, ensuring that all activities are executed efficiently, safely, and in line with operational plans, SOPs, and customer requirements. The Shift Supervisor is responsible for on-the-floor execution, ensuring that daily operational plans are delivered through effective supervision, resource management, and adherence to safety, quality, and performance standards. The role works closely with the Warehouse Supervisor and Warehouse Manager, escalating risks and deviations, while ensuring shift teams remain productive, aligned, and accountable to operational targets.
Key ResponsibilitiesEnd‑to‑end warehouse operations including planning, execution oversight, cargo flow, maintenance coordination, process adherence and throughput optimisation across all shifts.
Leadership, performance management, workforce planning, development, succession planning and HR collaboration to ensure a capable and engaged workforce.
Full compliance with legal, regulatory, SOP and SHEQ requirements. Review SHEQ performance, audit outcomes and drive corrective and preventative actions.
Implement systems/Delegate to ensure product integrity (quality), and accurate receiving/dispatching. Support inventory with FIFO control ageing stock.
Accountable for quality assurance, product integrity, system accuracy (WMS/ERP) and operational reporting to support decision‑making and continuous improvement.

Accountable for stock accuracy, integrity, availability and audit outcomes. Define and enforce inventory control strategies, including FIFO / FEFO.
Oversee all stock movements, reconciliations and system accuracy. Investigate stock variances using WMS data and ensure corrective actions are implemented through the QMS.
Drive warehouse space optimisation, layout planning and improved tons per square metre. Proactively plan storage capacity and mitigate risks of congestion or operational disruption.
Assist with additional duties within the scope of your role.
