Dispatch Supervisor
Join a dynamic logistics organization in Durban that is seeking a dedicated Dispatch Supervisor to lead and optimise their long-haul dispatch operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring timely deliveries, system accuracy, and safety compliance within a fast-paced environment committed to operational excellence.
Duties:
Oversee daily long-haul dispatch activities from planning to execution
Ensure loads are accurately picked, checked, and loaded according to dispatch plans
Maintain alignment between physical stock, documentation, and system transactions
Monitor dispatch performance to meet scheduled timelines
Coordinate with transporters and 3PL providers to secure vehicles and confirm schedules
Maximise vehicle utilisation and ensure compliance with legal load limits
Adjust dispatch plans proactively based on operational constraints or delays
Communicate continuously with drivers during transit
Manage all inter-warehouse transfers (SCTs) in Syspro, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Reconcile system stock versus physical stock before releasing loads
Investigate and resolve discrepancies, duplicate transfers, and unprocessed SCTs
Ensure hazardous loads are dispatched with valid TREM cards and verify product or SDS details
Maintain TREM card register, including version control and expiry tracking
Conduct pre-dispatch compliance checks to mitigate legal or safety risks
Supervise and develop dispatch storemen, checkers, and support staff
Collaborate with warehouse, sales, transport, and other relevant departments
Monitor key reports such as open orders, planned vs actual deliveries, and dispatch accuracy
Track KPIs including on-time delivery, load accuracy, and dispatch productivity
Enforce health and safety standards, conduct safety briefings, and promote hazard awareness
Identify and implement process improvements to reduce costs and enhance service levels
Support automation and system enhancement initiatives
Requirements:
Matric / Grade 12.
Minimum 3–5 years warehouse experience.
Minimum 2–3 years in a supervisory role.
Experience in dispatch, logistics, or transport coordination.
Proficient in MS Office suite.
Syspro (or similar ERP) experience essential.
Knowledge of hazardous goods handling (advantageous).
Valid driver’s license (Code 08).
Must have a valid Forklift license.
