Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer / Full Stack Developer to manage and enhance our TracePan production tracking system, internal applications, and IT infrastructure. The role combines systems support, software development, and operational IT assistance within a manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will ensure system reliability, improve tracking accuracy, support users where needed, and drive continuous digital and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
TracePan System (in house tracking system) Management
- Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot the TracePan production tracking system.
- Perform daily monitoring to ensure system performance, uptime, and data accuracy.
- Manage backend configuration, database updates, and system optimisation.
- Maintain and update the TracePan web platform (sites, users, tracking data).
- Troubleshoot system issues and perform fault-finding to resolve failures.
- Improve image-based code reading and product identification tag systems.
- Work with hardware/software suppliers to enhance scanning and tracking equipment.
- Liaise with customer IT teams for system integration and issue resolution.
- Provide technical support and training to operational sites.
- Ensure compliance with tracking, reporting, and system best practices.
Software Development & Backend Support
- Develop and maintain internal web applications and tools.
- Build dashboards, reports, automation scripts, and small-scale systems.
- Implement backend changes, integrations, and process automation.
- Ensure secure, well-documented, and efficient code practices.
IT Infrastructure & Support (If needed, currently outsourced)
- Provide day-to-day support for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Install and configure devices, systems, and user accounts.
- Maintain IT assets and support lifecycle management.
- Troubleshoot connectivity, system errors, and performance issues.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve and digitise production processes.
- Support operational efficiency through system enhancements.
- Recommend and implement new tools and integrations.
- Contribute to ongoing improvement of TracePan and related systems.
Minimum Requirements
- Qualification in IT, Computer Science, or Software Engineering
- Experience in full stack development and/or systems administration
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
- Experience with databases and web systems
- Manufacturing/production systems exposure advantageous
- Valid driver’s licence (if site visits required)
