SUPPLY CHAIN COORDINATOR
Location: V&A Waterfront, Cape Town
Department: Supply Chain / Operations
Type: Full-time
Working Arrangement: On-site during probation; hybrid thereafter (2 days WFH per week)
About the Opportunity
Our client is looking for a hands-on and detail-oriented Supply Chain Coordinator to join their team in the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town.This is an excellent opportunity for someone with practical experience across supply chain, inventory, procurement, manufacturing, production, logistics or operations who enjoys keeping things moving and taking ownership of the detail behind production and stock availability.
While the role is junior in level, this is not a graduate-only or purely administrative position. The successful candidate will need to understand how materials, suppliers, production requirements and stock levels fit together and be comfortable using their own judgement to identify and resolve potential issues.
A formal degree is not essential. We are particularly interested in candidates who have gained hands-on experience in a manufacturing, production or operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Monitoring and controlling inventory across raw materials, packaging and finished goods.
Monitoring shelf life and expiry dates across raw materials and finished products.
Proactively identifying potential expiry risks and taking action to minimise waste and write-offs.
Coordinating production requirements and schedules.
Ordering and managing raw materials and packaging requirements.
Monitoring supplier orders, delivery dates and lead times.
Following up with suppliers to ensure orders remain on track.
Ensuring required materials are available in line with production requirements.
Working closely with third-party manufacturers, suppliers and other operational stakeholders.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date ERP and supply-chain information.
Reviewing stock and supply information to identify potential shortages, excess stock or other risks.
Proactively identifying and resolving supply, inventory and production-related issues.
Using Excel and available systems to monitor, analyse and report on inventory and supply requirements.
Maintaining accurate records and ensuring strong administrative follow-through.
Supporting the wider operations and supply-chain function as required.

Supply Chain / Manufacturing Experience
The ideal candidate will have exposure to some or all of the following:
Inventory management
Supply planning
Production planning or coordination
Manufacturing environments
Raw materials
Packaging
Bill of Materials (BOMs)
Production schedules
Supplier management
Procurement / buying
Logistics coordination
Lead-time management
Stock availability
Shelf-life and expiry management
ERP systems
Advanced or strong intermediate Excel
Minimum Requirements
1--5 years' relevant practical experience in supply chain, inventory, manufacturing, production, procurement, logistics or operations.
Practical experience within a manufacturing or production environment would be highly advantageous.
Strong Excel skills.
Good organisational and administrative skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Good communication and supplier follow-up skills.
Ability to work independently and take ownership.
Own reliable transport.
Afrikaans is advantageous but not essential.
Qualifications
A degree is not mandatory.
Relevant practical experience will be prioritised over formal qualifications. Candidates with qualifications in Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, Operations, Business, Manufacturing or related fields are welcome, but the role is equally suited to someone who has developed strong practical experience without a degree.
