Duty Manager | Luxury Hotel | Cape Town

Salary: R20,000 – R23,000 per month

Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and guest-focused Duty Manager for a luxury hotel in Cape Town.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional with a passion for exceptional guest service and operational excellence. The successful candidate will oversee the daily operation of the hotel, ensuring the highest standards of service while supporting all operational departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operation of the hotel and ensure smooth service delivery.
  
• Maintain exceptional guest service and operational standards.
  
• Handle guest enquiries, requests, feedback and complaints professionally and efficiently.
  
• Manage guest comments and implement service recovery where required.
  
• Lead, motivate and support the operational team.
  
• Assist with the management of guest accounts and cash handling.
  
• Respond to email enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  
• Ensure a thorough knowledge of the hotel's facilities, room categories and services.
  
• Check guests in and out using OPERA Cloud.
  
• Operate the hotel switchboard and direct calls appropriately.
  
• Manage restaurant reservations and hotel bookings.
  
• Support the Food and Beverage team during meal service when required.
  
• Liaise effectively with all departments to ensure seamless guest experiences.
  

Requirements

• Post-matric Hotel School qualification.
  
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a 5-star hotel or similar luxury hospitality environment.
  
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience will be advantageous.
  
• Experience working with OPERA Cloud is essential.
  
• Strong computer literacy.
  
• Excellent communication skills with a high level of English proficiency.
  
• Strong leadership and team development abilities.
  
• Ability to plan, organise and implement operational initiatives.
  
• Positive, energetic and guest-focused attitude.
  
• Ability to work shifts and perform well under pressure.
  
• Own transport will be advantageous.
