Job Summary
The High Voltage Project Engineer will be responsible for supporting the planning, design coordination, execution, and delivery of high-voltage electrical infrastructure projects. The role will focus on HV networks, reticulation, substations, and associated infrastructure works within an EPC project environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate high-voltage electrical project activities from design through to execution.
- Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and technical delivery.
- Oversee HV reticulation, electrical infrastructure, and site installation activities.
- Review drawings, technical specifications, designs, and project documentation.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal project teams.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
- Monitor site progress and assist with resolving technical and construction-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with relevant South African electrical standards, regulations, and project requirements.
- Support testing, commissioning, handover, and close-out documentation.
- Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and project status feedback.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Registered Engineer with ECSA preferred / required.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in high-voltage infrastructure projects.
- Strong experience in electrical reticulation and infrastructure project delivery.
- EPC project experience will be highly advantageous.
- Experience working on substations, power distribution, HV/MV systems, or utility infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of project execution, construction coordination, and technical compliance.
- Ability to work on projects across South Africa.
- Strong communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
- Valid driver’s licence.
