Job Summary
Planet Fitness is actively seeking a seasoned Quantity Surveyor to become a vital part of our property department. This role requires a professional who is adept at managing and controlling project costs, ensuring detailed and accurate cost planning, and offering expert commercial advice on various property development projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, management, and control of project budgets, cost plans, forecasts, and financial reporting across multiple projects or portfolios.
- Provide strategic commercial and cost management guidance to senior leadership, project teams, and key stakeholders to support informed business decisions.
- Oversee the review and evaluation of tender documentation, ensuring commercial viability, risk mitigation, and identification of value engineering opportunities.
- Drive procurement strategies, manage tender processes, and oversee contract negotiations and awards to ensure optimal commercial outcomes.
- Monitor and report on project financial performance, proactively identifying cost risks, variances, and opportunities, while implementing corrective actions where required.
- Lead commercial risk management activities, ensuring effective governance, compliance, and contractual adherence throughout the project lifecycle.
- Partner with project, operational, and executive teams to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions that align with business objectives and project deliverables.
- Establish, maintain, and continuously improve commercial controls, reporting frameworks, and cost management systems.
- Manage and mentor commercial, cost management, and project support teams, fostering high performance and professional development.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, and key stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
- Provide executive-level reporting, insights, and recommendations on project performance, financial outcomes, and commercial strategy.
- Undertake any additional responsibilities as required to support the strategic and operational objectives of the business.
Requirements
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- A minimum of 5-10 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a similar capacity.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and procurement processes.
- Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Proficiency in cost management software, such as Procore and Excel, is essential.
