Senior Financial Accountant
Role Summary
The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for maintaining balance sheet integrity across multiple group companies. This role ensures that all control accounts, reconciliations, and month-end processes are accurate and completed on time.
Key Responsibilities
Balance Sheet Control
- Prepare monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts
- Maintain control account reconciliations including VAT, payroll and inventory
- Reconcile intercompany balances across group entities
- Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register
- Investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies
Month-End Close
- Prepare month-end journals including accruals, prepayments and provisions
- Process depreciation and asset movements
- Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts
- Ensure month-end close schedules are completed on time
Reporting Support
- Prepare reconciliation schedules supporting management accounts
- Assist with financial analysis and reporting packs
- Support financial audits and provide required documentation
Internal Control
- Review bank reconciliations prepared by treasury
- Monitor control accounts and escalate irregularities
- Ensure accurate financial records are maintained across systems
Minimum Requirements
- BCom Accounting or equivalent qualification
- 4–7 years relevant accounting experience
- Strong balance sheet reconciliation experience
- Experience in multi-company accounting environments preferred
- ERP system experience (Sage, Odoo or similar)
