This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded accounting professional with a genuine passion for the food and beverage industry. The successful candidate will take ownership of the full accounting function across a portfolio of busy, trend-setting restaurants in Johannesburg, ensuring accurate financial reporting, tight cost control, and sound operational support to the restaurant management teams. The role is responsible for maintaining complete and accurate financial records across multiple entities, managing month-end processes, and delivering timely management accounts. The successful candidate will manage all aspects of the accounting function including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll support, VAT submissions, and statutory compliance. Proficiency in Sage is essential, and experience with point-of-sale integrations and F&B-specific cost structures will be a strong advantage. The role demands a hands-on individual who understands the fast-paced, high-pressure environment of hospitality. A strong grasp of food and beverage cost management, stock control processes, and supplier account management is critical to success in this position. Requirements • BCom in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; or a relevant Diploma with equivalent practical experience • Minimum 5 years’ accounting experience, with at least 3 years within the F&B or restaurant industry • Proven experience managing a full accounting function independently • Proficiency in Sage – non-negotiable • Experience with restaurant or hospitality management systems and POS integrations advantageous • Strong understanding of F&B cost of sales, gross profit management, and stock controls • Excellent knowledge of VAT, PAYE, and South African statutory compliance • Ability to work across multiple entities simultaneously with a high level of accuracy • Must be based in Johannesburg or willing to relocate Salary – Market Related | On Application ➡️ PLEASE NOTE – Although we appreciate all applications received, we will only reply to those candidates who have the background and experience required.
