WatersEdge Solutions is partnering with a leading African financial services group to recruit a high-performing VP: M&A / Corporate Finance. About the Role
As VP: M&A / Corporate Finance, you will execute and manage transactions end-to-end, working across financial modelling, deal documentation, stakeholder coordination, and transaction delivery. This role is suited to a commercially sharp professional who is comfortable in fast-paced environments, confident managing multiple moving parts, and motivated by both execution excellence and broader business development impact.
Key Responsibilities
Execute and manage corporate finance and M&A transactions from origination support through to completion
Prepare, review, and refine financial models, transaction reports, and deal documentation
Support legal drafting and help ensure accurate implementation of transaction terms
Coordinate deal workstreams, stakeholders, and transaction timetables
Identify cross-selling opportunities and support broader revenue generation across the client base
Maintain a strong understanding of the applicable regulatory environment
Build and maintain trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Contribute to pipeline development, business development activity, and achievement of financial targets
Mentor junior team members and contribute to a high-performance team culture
What You’ll Bring
3–7 years of relevant experience in M&A, corporate finance, investment banking, or a related advisory environment
Strong financial analysis, valuation, and transaction execution capability
Commercial mindset with a high degree of accountability and attention to detail
Ability to perform in demanding, high-performance deal environments
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
CA(SA) or CFA is advantageous
Nice to Have
Experience working on cross-border or pan-African transactions
Exposure to legal drafting and transaction documentation
Track record of contributing to client development or origination efforts
