Job Description

The Senior Test Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts to ensure the quality and reliability of software applications within the banking and finance sector. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to identify testing requirements, implement automation frameworks, and support continuous integration and delivery pipelines. The successful candidate will lead the automation efforts, support manual testing activities where necessary, and contribute to improving testing processes and practises.

Job Duties

• Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts for web and mobile applications to validate functional and non-functional requirements.
• Design and implement test automation frameworks and tools tailored to project needs and technology stacks.
• Collaborate with software developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and define test strategies.
• Analyse test results, report defects clearly, and work with development teams to facilitate timely resolution.
• Integrate automated tests into continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines to ensure ongoing software quality.
• Mentor and guide junior test automation engineers to enhance team capability and knowledge sharing.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of test cases, frameworks, and processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve automation coverage, efficiency, and overall testing effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and security standards applicable to the banking and finance industry.

Required Skills and Experience

• Playwright preferred for UI automation, API test automation, Postman/Newman or equivalent, automated regression frameworks, integration testing, performance testing support, CI/CD integration, test data management, defect triage support, and release validation

Education

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline is required.
• Relevant professional certifications in software testing or test automation are advantageous.
