Job Description
- Deliver data migration of the current Cashman legacy application from the data reservoir to the new LMS system.
- To design, develop, script and test the reliability of data.
- Create Power BI dashboards for business use. Reconcile data and write queries to compare data.
- To analyze, design, solution, deploy, document and support the data migration.
- Create required Dashboards to provide to business.
- Communicate findings clearly to both technical migration engineers and non-technical business stakeholders, and must be comfortable raising concerns when data quality or migration completeness does not meet expectations.
- Document data lineage: where data originates, how it flows between systems, and which downstream reports or processes depend on it.
- Produce a current-state data inventory that serves as the baseline for migration scope and validation.
- Design and build Power BI dashboards that give the migration programme team visibility of data volumes by source system, table, and date range.
- Maintain and iterate dashboards throughout the migration as scope or definitions change
- Analyse and document the ingestion pipelines moving data from on-prem systems to AWS (S3 landing zone, AWS Glue ETL, Redshift or Athena).
- Profile data at each stage of the pipeline — landing zone, cleansed zone, curated zone — to detect transformation errors or schema drift.
- Support business acceptance testing by providing data extracts and analysis to validate that migrated data supports downstream reporting correctly.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, clean, and validate data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Develop and maintain databases, data systems, and data organisation processes.
- Analyse data using statistical techniques and tools to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
- Create comprehensive reports, dashboards, and visualisations to present findings to business units and senior management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
- Monitor data quality and implement measures to improve data integrity.
- Support data-driven decision-making by providing timely and relevant analytical support.
- Ensure compliance with data protection policies and regulatory requirements relevant to the banking and finance industry.
- Assist in the development of predictive models and forecasting tools where applicable.
Required Qualifications
- A recognised degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in data analysis within the banking and finance sector or a closely related industry.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis software such as Microsoft Excel, SQL, and statistical packages (e.g. R, Python, SAS).
- Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret complex data and translate it into clear and concise reports.
- Good understanding of banking and financial products, markets, and regulatory environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively share insights with non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.
- Professional certification in data analysis or business intelligence.
- Experience working with big data technologies and platforms.
- Knowledge of scripting languages and automation tools to streamline data processes.
- Familiarity with financial modelling and risk assessment methodologies.
