Finance Manager – Investment Funds, CA(SA) – S/Subs, Western Cape, SA

Our Client, a Global Investment firm, is currently in search of a financially astute, highly assertive and results orientated finance professional to join their dynamic and growing finance team.

One would describe you as having solid technical accounting knowledge with strong analytical and numerical skills as well as a strong sense of urgency and ability to thrive in a fast paced setting.

Main Purpose of the role:

The main focus of the role will be the overall financial responsibility of the Funds' financial function reporting to the Chief Financial Officer.

Qualification and Experience required:

• CA(SA) or similar qualification
• 5 Years+ post qualification experience gained ideally within the Financial Services / Fund Management / Investment / Asset Management / Multi-National context would be highly advantageous!
• Previous Fund Management experience is required
• Software proficiency: MS Suite, PowerBI (a distinct advantage)
• Multiple currency experience
• Proven people management experience
• Attention to detail with superb organisational skills
• Excellent report-writing and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with and manage various professional service providers which include outsourced administrators, auditors, depositary and other ad-hoc professional providers such as tax and legal
• Management of the fund accounting team
• Oversight of all aspects of financial reporting, control, legal and tax compliance, and financial performance of the funds under management
• Review of statutory financial statement in multiple jurisdictions as well as monthly / quarterly management accounts
• Preparation and/or review of various deliverables required for quarterly/annual/ad hoc reporting to investors and responding to investor queries
• Manage the audit process of the various entities within the deadlines which include various Fund entities
• Ensure compliance from a finance perspective with the various legal agreements which include the Fund Agreements, Investor side letters etc.
• Cash management which aligns with issuing of drawdown notices to investors, disbursements, budgeting, accounts payable, tax etc.
• Manage tax and regulatory compliance from a fund administration perspective across various entities
• Review, document and look for improvements in processes within fund administration
• Provide assistance to portfolio company investments as required
• Assist with ad hoc projects.
