Job Summary
An established Wealth Management Group is looking to employ a Tax Consultant. They have offices in Hyde Park, Johannesburg.
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Tax, be a registered Tax Practitioner, and be a member with a recognized professional body. A minimum of 4 years tax compliance and advisory experience will be required, as well as experience across individuals, trusts, companies and estates.
Role Overview
Within a collaborative and client-focused environment, this role is responsible for providing expert tax guidance that delivers clarity, confidence, and peace of mind.
You will work closely with Financial Planners and the Legacy & Trust team, providing support across all tax-related matters. This includes preparing and submitting individual, trust, company, and estate tax returns, advising clients on tax matters, optimising tax outcomes, and ensuring compliance with SARS regulations.
This is a dynamic, client-facing role where strong technical tax knowledge is combined with communication, analytical thinking, and the ability to align tax advice with broader financial plans.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver integrated tax advice aligned with clients’ overall financial plans and wealth strategies
- Prepare, review, and submit individual, trust, company, and deceased estate tax returns via SARS eFiling
- Assist clients in navigating tax matters with clarity, professionalism, and responsiveness
- Collaborate with Financial Planners and the Legacy & Trust team on tax-efficient structuring
- Identify and implement tax planning opportunities while maintaining full compliance
- Manage SARS correspondence including assessments, objections, verifications, and audit queries
- Interpret tax legislation and translate it into clear, practical guidance for clients
- Maintain accurate and well-organised client tax records
- Monitor legislative changes and ensure proactive application of updated tax regulations
- Support continuous improvement of internal processes and client service delivery

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, or a related field
- Registered Tax Practitioner (required)
- Membership with a recognised professional body (advantageous)
- Minimum 4–5 years’ experience in tax compliance and advisory
- Strong experience with individual, trust, company, and estate tax returns
- Proven experience working with SARS, including audits and queries
- Solid understanding of Income Tax and VAT legislation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and tax-related software systems
