Financial Accountant (Contract) | Midrand (Waterfall) | Fixed-Term Contract

This 12-month contract role focuses on delivering accurate, timely financial accounting across general ledger, reporting, and month-end close processes. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with IFRS and group reporting standards, while supporting audits, regulatory requirements, and internal controls. The position operates in a hybrid model based in Midrand.

You will work closely with shared services, centres of excellence, and internal stakeholders to maintain the integrity of financial data, resolve queries, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function.

What You’ll Do

• Manage general ledger activities, including postings, reconciliations, and account reviews
• Support month-end close processes, including trial balance reviews and variance analysis
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and income statement checks
• Deliver accurate group reporting in line with IFRS and internal directives
• Collaborate with shared services and global teams to resolve accounting queries
• Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with control frameworks
• Assist with tax, VAT, and customs audits and regulatory submissions
• Maintain data integrity and perform adjustments where required
• Provide ad hoc project and reporting support within finance

What You Bring

• BCom Accounting or equivalent qualification
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a financial accounting role
• Strong SAP and advanced Excel capability
• Solid understanding of IFRS and financial reporting standards
• Experience with month-end close, reporting, and audit processes
• Ability to work across functions and geographies
• Close attention to detail and strong analytical thinking
