Duties and Responsibilities
Purpose:The Mining Engineer ('ME') acts as mining expert within a Project Team to create mine designs, schedules and reports as per client and/or supervisors’ requirements.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and oversee designs, plans and schedules for mining operations.
- Consult with clients, professionals and government officials.
- Discuss work in progress and consult with contractors, engineers, geologists and surveyors.
- Ensure safety, quality and environmental standards are met and maintained.
- Study ways to improve mining.
- Determine the appropriate means of safety and efficiently mining deposits.
- Prepare operations and project schedules and reports.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Provide leadership to others through example, sharing of knowledge/skill.
- Quality control of junior employee outputs.
Requirements:
The current business model requires employees to work from home and/or on the client’s site.
Work Schedule:
Mondays to Fridays. A minimum of 180 hours per person per month is a condition of Employment. May be required to work longer hours when necessary.
Compensation:
No compensation for:
- Overtime
- Travel within 100km
- Travel to and from Dayenu Head Office.
Travel:
Applicable site visits by land or air may be required.

Skills and Qualifications:
Qualification Types: Diplomas
Skills: Diploma/Degree in Mining Engineering, 5 Years minimum relevant mining engineer and project experience and the ability to master changes in software or packages in short time period (< 3 months).
