Introduction Harmony Gold Mine has an opportunity for a reliable and disciplined Forklift Driver within our Engineering Department. Operating primarily across surface environments (including open pit operations) or underground where applicable, the successful candidate will provide essential logistics support. The role requires managing basic vehicle upkeep and routine transportation requests on a short-term shift basis to help the operation meet its core objectives. Min Requirements Candidates must meet the following minimum criteria to be considered: Minimum Grade 12 qualification. Driver's license B7 (relevant code for the specific type of vehicle). Valid Medical Certificate of Fitness. Valid First Aid Certificate. Proficiency in the English language. Ability to pass the Dover Assessment (when required). Cleared record of previous criminal offenses or traffic violations. Relevant Certificate of Competency (when required). Ability to pass the required training, assessments, and practical evaluations. Job Description Summary Reporting directly to the Engineering Foreman, the incumbent will be responsible for the following daily activities: Safely and efficiently driving a company-provided forklift to transport materials and equipment according to standard policies and procedures. Maintaining the vehicle in a serviceable condition, conducting pre-use inspection checklists prior to use, and performing basic maintenance like checking fluid levels and tire pressure. Cleaning the vehicle's interior and exterior, reporting defects daily, and returning the forklift to designated parking areas after shifts. Observing road signs, traffic regulations, and complying with the Minerals Act, Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA), and company SOPs/COPs. Reacting immediately to vehicle instrumentation warnings, managing operational risks proactively, and maintaining an incident-free safety record. Interacting cordially with the Stores and Transport departments, and reporting daily to the Foreman regarding vehicle conditions and logged activities.
