Introduction Harmony Gold Mine is looking for a reliable Dump Truck Operator to join our Mechanised Mining team. This role is essential for underground operations, demanding a high level of physical and mental fitness to handle routine hauling activities safely. The successful candidate will operate machinery according to strict safety regulations, standard operating procedures, and manufacturer specifications to deliver the required quality and quantity of work output. Min Requirements Candidates must meet the following minimum criteria to be considered: Grade 10 / ABET Level 3 qualification. National Certificate in Mining Operations Level 2. Meet the minimum requirements of the Dover Test. Valid Medical Certificate of Fitness. Valid First Aid Certificate. Relevant Certificates of Competency. Job Description Summary Reporting to the Miner and working under the oversight of the Shift Boss, the incumbent will be responsible for the following daily activities: Operating a Dump Truck underground to safely load, haul, and transport ore and waste to designated tipping points. Conducting visual inspections of equipment and the working environment from a safe area, completing daily pre-shift checklists, adhering to stop-block procedures, and reporting breakdowns immediately. Complying with planned maintenance schedules, including washing and greasing the engine prior to services, and assisting artisans during weekly servicing. Adhering strictly to the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA), utilizing effective PPE, reporting unsafe conditions, and maintaining good housekeeping. Fulfilling shift targets, maintaining short-term record-keeping/hauling reports, and collaborating closely with mechanized co-workers (such as LHD Operators).
