The primary focus of this role is to support underground mining goals by safely facilitating the movement of essential assets across the branch. This position demands rigid adherence to engineering standards, procedures, and statutory health and safety regulations. Min Requirements Education: Minimum Grade 12. Licensing: Valid Monorail Operating permit and authorization as per internal Harmony codes of practice. Health & Safety: Valid Medical Certificate of Fitness and First Aid equipment/certification. Assessments: Ability to pass the Dover Assessment along with all mandatory training, practical evaluations, and specialized assessments. Language: High level of English Language Proficiency. Job Description Summary The Monorail Operator Tshepong Operation is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of material, equipment, and personnel (during underground emergencies when chairlifts are out of service). Essential duties include conducting comprehensive pre-use vehicle inspections, logging trip-sheets, and performing basic checklist maintenance such as monitoring fluid levels. The role requires constant focus during shift operations, clear radio communication with the shaft team, active identification of workplace risks, and ensuring the monorail is cleaned and returned to designated parking areas at completion of work.
