The purpose of the Driver & Installation Assistant role is to support the efficient operation of the company by managing logistics (collections and deliveries), assisting with technical installations (network cabling and fibre), and ensuring that necessary supplies and equipment are available for the team.

This role combines transportation and technical support, contributing to the timely execution of installations and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. It also includes responsibility for vehicle upkeep and general operational support across the business.

Key Responsibilities

1. Collections and Deliveries

• Safely collect and deliver goods, equipment, and supplies to various locations
• Ensure accurate documentation for all deliveries and collections

2. Assisting with Network Cabling Installations

• Assist with the installation of network cabling for clients
• Support fibre cable installations in office parks and residential estates

3. Preparing Fly-Leads and Patch Leads

• Assemble and prepare fly-leads and patch leads according to company standards

4. Unpacking and Assisting with Installations

• Unpack phones and hardware prior to installations
• Provide hands-on support during installation processes

5. Weekly Vehicle Inspections

• Conduct weekly inspections to ensure the company vehicle is in a safe and operational condition
• Report any faults, damages, or maintenance requirements

6. Procurement of Supplies

• Purchase required groceries and general supplies for the company as needed

7. Ad-Hoc Duties

• Assist with additional tasks and operational requirements as needed

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Basic knowledge of network cabling and fibre installations (or willingness to learn)
• Physically capable of lifting and carrying equipment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Preferred Skills

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Basic understanding of ICT and hardware installations
