A premium hospitality and events venue is looking for an experienced, energetic and organised Beverage Manager to oversee the smooth and efficient running of its beverage operation.
This is a hands-on management role suited to someone who enjoys being actively involved in the day-to-day operation and understands both exceptional guest service and the commercial side of beverage management.
The successful candidate will oversee the bar and beverage operation, manage stock and purchasing, lead the beverage team and ensure that all beverage requirements are well planned and prepared for weddings, functions, conferences and other events.
Manage the day-to-day operation of the bar and beverage service.
Maintain high standards of guest service, presentation and cleanliness.
Oversee beverage stock levels, ordering, receiving, storage and stock rotation.
Conduct regular stock takes and maintain accurate stock records.
Monitor beverage usage, wastage and stock variances.
Assist with beverage cost control and maintaining appropriate margins.
Ensure the bar is fully stocked, organised and ready for service.
Plan and prepare beverage requirements for weddings, functions, conferences and other events.
Ensure sufficient stock, equipment and staff are available for each event.
Work closely with Events, Kitchen and Front of House teams to ensure smooth service.
Lead, support and motivate the beverage and bar team during service.
Assist with staff scheduling and allocation of duties.
Train and guide staff on beverage knowledge, service standards and responsible alcohol service.
Liaise with beverage suppliers and assist with purchasing and order negotiations where appropriate.
Monitor supplier deliveries and ensure orders are received and stored correctly.
Maintain accurate purchasing, stock and beverage-related administration.
Monitor beverage equipment and report maintenance or replacement requirements.
Ensure beverage operations comply with relevant health, safety and liquor requirements.
Assist the wider hospitality team during busy periods and events.
Identify opportunities to improve service, efficiency and the overall guest experience.
Proven experience in a Beverage Manager, Bar Manager or similar hospitality management role.
Strong knowledge of beverage operations, stock control and purchasing.
Experience managing beverage requirements for events and functions.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent organisational and administrative abilities.
Good understanding of beverage cost control, wastage and stock variances.
Strong guest service and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Hands-on approach with the ability to lead by example.
Knowledge of responsible alcohol service, health and safety requirements.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays when required.
