The Supply Chain Process Engineer is responsible for analysing, improving, and redesigning operational processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures across distribution centre operations to improve efficiency, productivity, service delivery, and cost effectiveness. The role focuses on identifying operational inefficiencies, labour optimization opportunities, process bottlenecks, and control gaps within a predominantly manual operating environment while supporting the business’s operational transformation initiatives, including future systems and technology implementation. The incumbent will work closely with operational stakeholders to develop practical, scalable, and sustainable process improvements across warehousing, inventory management, logistics, and distribution operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyse current operational workflows, SOPs, and distribution processes to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
Conduct time studies, process mapping, workflow analysis, and labour utilization assessments across distribution centre operations.
Develop and implement process improvement initiatives to improve productivity, efficiency, accuracy, and cost control.
Identify and eliminate operational bottlenecks and non-value-adding activities.
Review and optimize warehouse layout, operational flows, and inventory handling processes.
Develop operational performance tracking tools, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms using Excel and other available systems.
Work closely with operational teams to standardize and improve operational procedures and controls.
Analyse operational data and trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and operational risks.
Support the business in preparing for future implementation of WMS, TMS, ERP, and other operational technologies.
Assist with process documentation, SOP development, and change implementation initiatives.
Conduct root cause analysis on operational inefficiencies, stock variances, delays, and productivity challenges.
