Job Summary
Our client operating in the retail space; viz. buying, selling and loan business; is seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented Loan Administrator / Loan Officer to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing loan applications, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, managing loan administration processes, and delivering excellent customer service.
This role requires strong administrative abilities, sound judgment, and the ability to build positive relationships with customers while maintaining high levels of accuracy and confidentiality.
Salary: R8,000 per month
Requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric Certificate.
- Previous experience in a loans, credit, financial services, retail, or administrative environment.
- Basic understanding of credit and lending principles.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong numerical and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Clear criminal and credit record.
Responsibilities:
Loan Administration
- Process and administer loan applications in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Verify customer information and supporting documentation.
- Capture and maintain accurate customer and loan records.
- Ensure all loan agreements and documentation are completed correctly.
- Assist customers with loan enquiries and application processes.
Customer Service
- Provide professional and efficient service to customers.
- Explain loan products, terms, conditions, and repayment obligations.
- Address customer queries and concerns in a timely manner.
- Build and maintain positive customer relationships.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with the National Credit Act (NCA) and company policies.
- Conduct affordability assessments and verification checks.
- Identify and escalate potential fraud or irregularities.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer information at all times.
Collections and Account Management
- Monitor loan repayments and follow up on overdue accounts.
- Assist customers with payment arrangements where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and payment commitments.
- Support branch efforts in achieving collection targets.
Administration and Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required.
- Ensure accurate filing and record keeping.
- Assist with branch administration and operational support functions.
- Maintain compliance records and audit requirements.
