Job Summary
Purpose of the Position: Accountable for the financial reporting process for month-end close, half-year, year-end, forecasts, rolling forecasts and budget. Key Performance Objective Governance, Controls Policies Identification of control weaknesses and recommendations for improvements and ensuring that the recommendations are implemented. Monitor compliance to accounting policies. Ensure compliance to policies, internal controls, and external audits. Support internal audits and ensure that any findings are resolved. Ensure that all external audit findings are addressed and relevant controls/remediations are implemented. Assist in the improvement and development of processes and systems for accounting purposes. Enforce governance of the intercompany policy and recommend policy enhancements. Support the Finance Shared Services Innovation team in governance initiatives Month end and Year end Reporting Take responsibility for the month end and year end reporting to Board and Group Lead the pre- and post- month end meetings to Senior Financial Manager and CFO Provide direction, oversight, and management to the team. This includes working with the BP team to ensure that both SAP and HFM numbers are accurate and complete. Take responsibility for updating the month end calendar and ensuring it agrees to Group timelines. Work with business partners and other Finance Shared Services departments to ensure an accurate and efficient month end close. Responsible for reviewing and approving journals and ensure accurate processing in SAP. Analyse the trial balance and explanation/commentary for movements compared with previous months. Ensure the accurate, complete, and timely accounting of intercompany transactions. Supervise the effective and efficient accounting processes and management of intercompany. Clear intercompany validations Take responsibility for reviewing Balance Confirmation and Reconciliation of Accounts Manage Intercompany Dispute Resolution, Funding and settlement Consult with the Tax team on applicable matters related to month end close Deliver timely and relevant analysis, insight, and actions. Lead the year end pack reporting process and audit from Finance Shared Services Prepare reporting packs and Financial Statements and disclosures at interim and year end; Assess disclosures required, create templates and automated reports. Support the Annual Financial Statement process. Manage external audit liaison, including audit requirements and follow up. Review audit schedules and assist the auditors in their inquiries. Represent the company during any audits that involve intercompany, journals and reconciliations. Drive and monitor KPIs and implement initiatives to ensure improvements; Ensure that all relevant and strategic KPIs are reported. Initiate and manage the improvement of processes such as month end and intercompany, and work towards standardization of relevant aspects such as reports, data analysis, etc. Automate and streamline processes. Responsible for the budget and forecast end-to-end process. Manage submissions in HFM. Compile relevant presentations for review by Senior Financial Manager and CFO, thereafter, submit to Group. Manage communication of queries and scenario analysis Support requests from the Investor Relations teams Prepare and communicate budget timelines. Manage the RFC process. Manage the Monthly Cashflow Forecast (including treasury) process and tracking thereof. Qualifications Must be a CA (SA) or CIMA qualification. Experience / Skills Minimum 2+ years†relevant experience in a similar role, post articles 5-8 years†working experience. Detailed commercial and financial acumen, balanced with creative flair. Industry understanding and experience would be advantageous.
