Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, creative and trend-savvy Marketing & Social Media Coordinator to lead redAcademy’s content creation and social media presence. This role is perfect for a recent graduate from a creative or digital institution with a deep love for youth culture, digital storytelling and performance-driven social media.
You will be solely responsible for planning, creating, scheduling and analysing content across redAcademy’s social platforms, including:
- Instagram
- TikTok
- Facebook
- (and any other relevant platforms aligned with target audience)
You will collaborate closely with senior management to execute a marketing strategy that positions redAcadmy as the go-to choice for young South Africans who want to break into the tech industry.
Key responsibilities
Content Creation & Social Media Management
- Develop and execute a compelling, youth-focused content calendar
- Create daily stories, reels, TikTok videos, and static posts aligned with brand guidelines.
- Capture and curate authentic content that resonates with South African youth.
- Write fresh, relevant copy that speaks the language of our audience.
Strategy & Analytics
- Present bi-weekly performance reports to management
- Analyse engagement, reach and growth metrics and recommend improvements.
- Stay ahead of social media trends, platforms updates, and youth-cultural shifts, incorporating these into your planning.
- Develop and present campaign concepts in advance, including strategic rationale.
Brand Building
- Ensure consistency of brand tone and experience across all platforms
- Contribute creative ideas for broader marketing activities, events, youth outreach and campaigns.
- Collaborate on the overall marketing strategy to drive brand visibility and conversions.
General Marketing Support
- Assist with any marketing initiatives relevant to attracting youth to the Academy, including events, on-site activations, partnerships and digital campaigns.
Who we're looking for
A passionate, self-driven creative who:
- Is a recent graduate in Digital Marketing, Creative Brand Communication, Design, Social Media Management or similar
- Has a portfolio showcasting social media content for a brand – professional, personal, or academic.
- Has strong video creation and editing skills (reel, TikTok, short-form storytelling).
- Understands youth culture in South Africa and can speak authentically to it.
- Enjoys analysing performance data and applying insights to enhance content strategy.
- Work proactively, delivers ahead of deadlines, and present ideas confidently.
- Balance creativity with strategic thinking and professionalism.

- Canva, Adobe Suite, CapCut or similar editing tools
- Instagram & TikTok native editing
- Social media analystic tools
- Copywriting & content planning
- Presentaion skills (PowerPoint/Slides)
