A well-established mid-sized construction company specializing in high-end residential and commercial projects in the Western Cape, is currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor (PQS) to join their team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and tender documentation for residential and commercial projects.

• Conduct feasibility studies, cost planning, and value engineering to ensure project profitability.

• Manage tendering and procurement processes, including evaluating bids and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors.

• Administer and monitor contracts and subcontracts, including claims, payments, and variations.

• Maintain strict cost control and reporting systems throughout project lifecycles.

• Conduct on-site inspections to verify quantities, progress, and material usage.

• Prepare monthly valuations and cost reports for management and clients.

• Liaise closely with project managers, site managers, architects, and engineers to ensure seamless communication.

• Support the final account and project close-out processes.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, client expectations, and contractual obligations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Quantity Surveying.

• Professional registration (PQS) advantageous.

• 5–10 years’ relevant experience as a Quantity Surveyor within residential and/or commercial construction.

• Strong understanding of cost management, estimating, and contract administration.

• Proficiency in QS software and advanced Excel knowledge.

• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

• Afrikaans-speaking preferred (for internal communication and client fit), but open to all qualified applicants.

• Strong work ethic and commitment to high performance within a fast-paced environment.
