The South African Institute of International Affairs (SAIIA) is an independent, non-profit public policy think tank committed to rigorous research and policy engagement aimed at fostering a well-governed, peaceful, economically sustainable, and globally connected Africa. For over ninety years, SAIIA has been instrumental in shaping discourse on Africa’s international relations, governance, and economic development.
SAIIA is inviting applications for the position of Climate Finance Researcher within its Climate and Natural Resources Programme. The successful candidate will support projects focused on climate finance, climate diplomacy, climate adaptation, and energy policy, including the just transition. Additionally, they will assist the Programme Head in fundraising efforts to secure further project funding.
About the Role
The role will primarily involve work on just transition and country platforms, as well as adaptation finance within the current project portfolio. Research activities will include both desktop analysis and fieldwork. The ideal candidate will possess excellent research and writing skills and demonstrate the ability to work flexibly and effectively in a dynamic environment.
