We are seeking an experienced Job Description & Job Evaluation Specialist for a short-term contract opportunity based in Cape Town. The successful candidate will support a job description review and job evaluation project, ensuring that job descriptions are appropriately aligned and evaluated in accordance with the relevant organisational and regulatory requirements.
Review existing job descriptions (JDs).
Update and align job descriptions with the Municipal Staffing Regulations.
Conduct stakeholder engagements, both in person and via Microsoft Teams.
Prepare reports and motivation documents arising from the review and evaluation process.
Conduct relevant research to support the project.
Provide project administration support to ensure effective implementation of the new JDs for the Metro Spatial Planning Team.
Support the production of documentation for the Job Evaluation Committee and assist with related enquiries and resolutions.
Develop and manage a structured system for storing all new job descriptions and supporting documentation.
Degree in Industrial Psychology, Human Resource Management, Organisational Development or a relevant related field.
Minimum 8 years' relevant experience.
Demonstrable experience in job description development/review and job evaluation.
Strong understanding of job profiling, organisational structures and job evaluation processes.
Experience working with or applying Municipal Staffing Regulations would be highly advantageous.
Computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Office.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
Excellent report writing, research and administrative skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work within tight project deadlines.
This is a short-term contract based in Cape Town, commencing immediately and running until 21 October 2026. Candidates should therefore be available to start at short notice and commit for the full duration of the assignment.
