Our client, a well-established manufacturer within the agricultural and animal nutrition sector, is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead their procurement function. This strategic role is responsible for ensuring the uninterrupted supply of raw materials, driving supplier performance, managing commercial negotiations, and optimising procurement processes to support production and business growth.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
Ensure the timely procurement and availability of raw materials to meet production requirements.
Source, evaluate and manage suppliers, including contract negotiations and supplier performance.
Monitor commodity markets and identify opportunities for cost optimisation and supply security.
Work closely with the Technical Team to ensure compliance with quality and feed safety standards.
Optimise inventory levels while balancing working capital requirements.
Identify and mitigate procurement and supply chain risks.
Ensure compliance with procurement policies, regulatory requirements and audit standards.
Prepare procurement budgets, monitor expenditure and report on procurement performance.
Build strong relationships across Operations, Production, Finance, Quality Control and Sales.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and supply chain operations.
Minimum RequirementsGrade 12 with Mathematics.
Degree or National Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Commerce, Agricultural Economics or a related field.
Minimum 5 years' procurement, sourcing or supply chain experience within the feed, food manufacturing, agriculture or FMCG sectors.
Proven experience in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, contract management and inventory planning.
Sound understanding of commodity purchasing, commercial principles and cost analysis.
Experience working with ERP systems, inventory management software and advanced Microsoft Excel.
Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
