Role Overview
The Clinical & Practice Coordinator is responsible for supporting the clinical and administrative functioning of the practice. This role combines hands-on patient care coordination with oversight of day-to-day practice operations. The incumbent will assist the doctor during consultations and hospital rounds, maintain accurate patient records, and provide guidance to the secretary to ensure smooth practice flow. Billing support may be provided if required, but it is not a core responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and track patient results (bloods, scans, ECGs)
- Ensure all documentation is complete and ready ahead of consultations
- Prepare, update, and maintain accurate patient files
- Accompany and assist the doctor during hospital rounds
- Capture and update patient notes and clinical information in files
- Coordinate appointments and manage patient flow
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the practice
- Provide guidance and support to the secretary
- Maintain structured and up-to-date filing systems
- Act as liaison between doctor, hospital, and administrative staff
- Provide support with billing processes only when required
- May be required to obtain and document relevant patient history and background information prior to the doctor’s clinical consultation
Requirements
- Nursing background (essential)
- Previous experience in a clinical or practice environment
- Strong understanding of clinical workflows and patient care processes
- Experience in a supervisory or coordination role (advantageous)
- Experience with GoodX or similar systems (advantageous)
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- High attention to detail in maintaining patient records
Working Hours
Monday to Thursday – 08:00 to 17:00
Friday – 08:00 to 16:30
No after-hours work unless agreed with Doctor
