An established manufacturing company is seeking a technically minded and analytically driven Technical Cost Accountant to join their Cape Town team.

The role will focus on product costing, manufacturing costs, stock and inventory, variance analysis and financial reporting, working closely with production, procurement and finance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain product costing and margin analysis.

• Monitor raw material, labour and production costs.

• Conduct stock counts and inventory reconciliations.

• Analyse variances between actual and standard costs.

• Prepare costing reports and operational financial analysis.

• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.

• Maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and costing databases.

• Work closely with production, procurement and finance teams.

• Identify and support cost-control and efficiency initiatives.

• Assist with month-end reporting and audit requirements.

• Maintain accurate costing and financial information within the relevant systems.

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Cost & Management Accounting, Finance or a related field.

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Strong numerical and analytical ability.

• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

• Experience with costing, stock or inventory-related processes.

• Knowledge of ERP systems.

• Pastel Evolution experience advantageous.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
