Established manufacturing business seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to support the Finance Department across multiple group companies. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing reconciliations, supporting day-to-day finance operations and ensuring bookkeeping responsibilities are completed accurately and within required deadlines.

Reporting directly to the Senior Financial Manager, the Bookkeeper will support the financial operations of the business within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain debtor and creditor accounts.

• Perform bookkeeping functions up to Trial Balance.

• Process bank reconciliations and petty cash reconciliations.

• Maintain the General Ledger and complete relevant reconciliations.

• Process SARS submissions, including VAT and PAYE.

• Prepare and load payments on the banking platform.

• Assist with stock reconciliations, inventory reporting and financial tracking.

• Extract financial information and prepare monthly, annual and ad hoc reports.

• Maintain accurate and organised financial records and filing systems.

• Assist with additional finance and accounting administration as required.

• Sage Pastel Evolution ERP

• Microsoft Excel

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant accounting/bookkeeping qualification; Diploma preferred.

• 3–5 years' bookkeeping experience.

• Proven experience working up to Trial Balance.

• Strong Sage Pastel Evolution experience.

• Good understanding of VAT, PAYE and SARS submissions.

• Strong Microsoft Excel and general computer skills.

Advantageous

• Experience within a manufacturing environment.

• Exposure to stock control, inventory reconciliations or cost accounting.
