Overview
An established Law Firm, with a strong Eastern Cape footprint, is looking for an experienced Conveyancing Secretary to join their team. This role is office-based and can be based in East London or Port Elizabeth and will report to and work closely with one of the Partners in East London.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 / Matric
Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a Conveyancing Secretary, handling transfers and bonds from instruction to registration
Experience working directly with major bank panels (ABSA, Nedbank, FNB, Standard Bank, Investec) advantageous
Experience with sectional title, developments and/or township sub-division transactions advantageous
Valid driver's license and own vehicle
Responsibilities
Preparation and typing of property transfer documentation
Preparation and typing of mortgage bond documentation
Independent management of a full transfer and bond caseload from instruction to lodgement and registration
Liaison with clients, estate agents, bank officials and transferees/mortgagees
Liaison with major bank panels regarding bond instructions and requirements
Ensuring all financial requirements (rates, levies, bond cancellation figures, etc.) have been complied with prior to lodgement
Preparing and lodging documentation for sectional title, development and township sub-division transactions
Attending to Deeds Office queries and rejections, and ensuring timeous re-lodgement
Providing guidance and support to junior conveyancing secretaries where required
Ensuring all such tasks and duties reasonable and incidental to the above and to the registration of Deeds Office transactions
May also be required from time to time to do other general work falling outside the conveyancing scope, or around the office in general as the firm's needs may require or necessitate
