The successful candidate will be responsible for driving a culture of excellence in guest relations, conservation messaging, and mentorship. Key Areas of Responsibility Full oversight of the Safari department, including game drives, interpretive walks, family safari experiences, and asset management (vehicles and equipment). Act as a primary mentor for the team. You will drive performance management, conduct appraisals, and earmark high-potential individuals for growth within the greater company. Act as the registered responsible person for company firearms, ensuring safe weapon handling and departmental proficiency. Work hand-in-hand with the Reserve Conservation Team to integrate conservation values into the guest experience and stay engaged in wildlife management insights. Chair departmental meetings, manage budgets, oversee vehicle maintenance (workshop function), and assist with lodge social media content. Serve as a main coordinator for emergency management, including medical, fire, or flood evacuations. What We’re Looking For Essential Qualifications: Minimum FGASA NQF Level 4 and Trails Guide. ARH and Rifle Proficiency, First Aid Level 2, valid Driver’s License, and Pr-DP. Proven track record in a Head Guide or Assistant Head Guide role within a luxury environment. Excellent time management, solution-seeking skills, and the ability to work accurately under pressure while remaining adaptable and flexible.
