Location: Vereeniging, Gauteng
A well-established company within the engineering, industrial and fastener supply sector is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Officer to join their team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing materials and services, managing supplier relationships, processing purchase orders and ensuring procurement requirements are met efficiently and cost-effectively.
Source and procure goods, materials and services required for Sales Orders and Workshop requirements.
Manage supplier relationships, including pricing negotiations and delivery schedules.
Process purchase orders accurately and ensure timely follow-up with suppliers.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing and supplier information.
Collaborate with Internal Sales to understand material requirements and plan procurement accordingly.
Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with company standards.
Assist with inventory management to maintain optimal stock levels.
Generate procurement and cost-saving reports.
Develop strong knowledge of fasteners, grades, coatings and specifications, including 8.8, 10.9, B7, SS304 and SS316.
Knowledge of galvanised products and ISO/DIN/ASTM standards.
Ability to recommend suitable alternative solutions when stock is unavailable.
Understanding of fastener/product applications within Engineering, Manufacturing, Mining and Construction sectors.
Matric / Grade 12.
2–3 years’ procurement experience, preferably within Fasteners, Engineering or Industrial Supply.
Candidates with 5+ years’ experience will be highly advantageous.
Knowledge of procurement processes and supplier management.
Experience with ERP systems; SYSPRO experience is advantageous.
Computer literacy, including MS Office and Outlook 365.
Experience with SYSPRO and Q-Docs will be advantageous.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
High accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure, multitask and prioritise urgent orders.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Monday – Thursday: 07:30 – 17:00
Friday: 07:30 – 14:00
Basic Salary + KPI Commission
