We are looking for an experienced and passionate Bar Manager to lead the bar operations and deliver exceptional beverage experiences within the Food and Beverage department of this well-established hotel. ABOUT THE ROLE As the Bar Manager, you will oversee all bar operations, ensuring beverage service standards are consistently met while delivering a personalised and memorable guest experience. You will be responsible for maintaining efficient bar operations, ensuring stock levels are managed effectively, and creating an environment where both guests and team members thrive. You will respond promptly to guest feedback, tailor beverage experiences to individual preferences, and ensure the smooth flow of service while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene, health, and safety. Working closely with other hotel departments, you will align bar operations with overall business objectives and play a key role in developing your team through ongoing coaching, training, and performance management. You will train bartenders and bar staff on service excellence, cocktail preparation, product knowledge, and operational standards, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead and manage all bar operations to ensure exceptional service delivery. Maintain beverage service standards and operational efficiency across all bars. Ensure bars are fully stocked and inventory is effectively controlled. Deliver personalised guest experiences and promptly resolve guest feedback. Train; coach, motivate, and supervise bartenders and bar staff. Develop team knowledge in cocktails, wines, spirits, and beverage service. Drive cocktail innovation and stay abreast of beverage and market trends. Ensure compliance with hygiene, health, safety, and company standards. Collaborate with other hotel departments to support seamless guest experiences. Monitor team performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Support revenue growth through strong product knowledge and sales techniques. REQUIREMENTS: To be successful in this role, you will have: A South African Citizen Matric / Grade 12 qualification A Hospitality Qualification (NQF Level 5–7) from an accredited academic institution. A minimum of 3 years' experience as a bartender or cocktail specialist in an upmarket bar environment. Demonstrated mixology experience . WSET Level 1 qualification will be advantageous. Strong working knowledge of MS365 and Micros . Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Extensive knowledge of cocktails, wines, spirits, and beverage trends. Experience in cocktail conceptualisation and menu development. Proven leadership, coaching, and team management abilities. Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills. The ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Excellent guest service and sales skills with a commitment to quality.
