We are seeking a highly experienced System Security Architect to join our consulting team and support a leading client in the telecommunications sector. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in security architecture, security standards, and emerging technologies such as AI and cloud security. This role requires someone who can operate at both strategic and technical levels, engage with senior stakeholders, and drive security capability enablement across complex environments.

What you'll do:

• Architecture & Design
  • Conduct reference architecture reviews to validate alignment to enterprise standards.
  • Perform solution architecture reviews with a focus on security controls, risks, and mitigations.
  • Lead and contribute to security architecture design across multiple domains.
  • Develop and maintain reference architectures for security capabilities.
  • Create and review technical security standards and guidelines.
• Business & Technical Analysis
  • Perform business analysis of security processes and organisational security needs.
  • Assess and document the security impact of new solutions, systems, and business initiatives.
• Security Capability Development
  • Design and support implementation of security solutions and capabilities.
  • Enable and uplift internal security competencies within the organisation.
  • Oversee or guide the implementation of security systems, ensuring proper integration and configuration.

Your Expertise:

• 11+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity and architecture (Senior level).
• Strong working knowledge of the SABSA security architecture framework.
• Hands-on experience developing and reviewing technical security standards.
• Experience working in both Waterfall and Agile project environments.
• Demonstrated experience delivering cybersecurity architecture projects in large, complex enterprises.

Qualifications:

• TOGAF Certification (mandatory).
