Senior Lodge Anchor / Assistant Lodge Manager - Luxury Safari Lodge - Sabi Sand, Greater Kruger Kendrick Recruitment is searching for an operationally strong and guest-focused Senior Lodge Anchor / Assistant Lodge Manager for a well-loved, privately owned luxury safari lodge in the northern Sabi Sand Game Reserve, set on an iconic waterhole with exceptional Big Five game viewing. This is a genuine management role - not simply a relief position. The successful candidate will become an integral part of the leadership team, working alongside the General Manager to refine systems, elevate standards and shape one of the Sabi Sand's most authentic safari experiences. Minimum Requirements: Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in a senior operational role within a luxury lodge or boutique hotel environment - essential Strong Food and Beverage background - essential and non-negotiable Proven ability to operate confidently across multiple lodge departments Experience relieving or supporting departmental heads across FOH, F&B, housekeeping and kitchen Strong HR knowledge and the ability to manage, mentor and develop staff Solid understanding of OHS compliance and workplace safety practices Excellent administrative and organisational skills Confident making independent operational decisions Natural leader with a hands-on, proactive approach Exceptional guest engagement, communication and hosting skills Experience coordinating special events and venue management advantageous Knowledge of procurement, stores and stock control advantageous Relevant hospitality qualification advantageous Stable work history with outstanding, contactable references Key Responsibilities: ?️ Food & Beverage Maintain and continuously enhance the lodge's dining experience across all settings Oversee F&B service standards, presentation and guest interaction throughout all meal services Coordinate bush breakfasts, boma evenings, special dining events and venue setups Relieve the F&B Manager during off cycles and maintain full operational continuity ? Multi-Department Relief Management Provide confident operational support and relief across all departments as required including Front Office, Guest Relations, Housekeeping, Kitchen Operations and Procurement Ensure departmental standards are upheld consistently during all relief periods Identify opportunities to improve systems, standards and the overall guest journey ? Leadership & People Management Mentor; develop and motivate staff across departments Support HR functions including performance management, training and compliance Ensure full compliance with OHS standards and workplace safety requirements across the operation Foster a culture of accountability, excellence and continuous improvement ?
