About the CompanyOur client, a well-established plant services company based in Ermelo, provides maintenance, repair and support services to industrial and heavy-plant operations across Mpumalanga. They are growing their technical team and looking for qualified electricians who take pride in safe, reliable workmanship.
Role Purpose
The Qualified Electrician will install, maintain, fault-find and repair electrical systems on plant, machinery and site infrastructure, keeping equipment running safely and minimising downtime for the client's customers.
Key Responsibilities
Install, maintain and repair electrical systems, motors, control panels and wiring on plant and equipment
Carry out fault-finding and diagnostics on electrical and control circuits, including starters, VSDs and PLC-linked systems
Perform planned and breakdown maintenance to schedule, and respond to call-outs as required
Read and work from electrical drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams
Test, commission and inspect installations to ensure compliance with SANS 10142 and the OHS Act
Complete job cards, inspection records and maintenance reports accurately
Follow lockout/tagout, permit-to-work and site safety procedures at all times
Identify parts and materials needed and report defects or risks to the supervisor
Work alongside boilermakers, fitters and other trades on shared jobs and shutdowns
Requirements
Minimum RequirementsGrade 12 (Matric)
Trade Tested Electrician (Red Seal / Section 13 or 26D certificate)
Minimum 3 years' post-trade experience, ideally in plant, mining, industrial or heavy-equipment environments
Valid driver's licence (Code B or EB) and own transport
Willing to work overtime, standby and shutdowns as needed
Advantageous
Wireman's Licence (Installation Electrician or Master Installation Electrician)
Experience with PLCs, VSDs and motor control centres
Mining or MHSA site experience and valid medical fitness certificate
Working at heights and first aid certificates
