Key Responsibilities
Greeting guests at their assigned tables;
Ensuring each guest receives a menu and wine list;
Having thorough knowledge of all menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods;
Ensuring tables are properly set with linens, silverware, and glassware;
Taking accurate food and beverage orders using the POS system;
Communicating orders to bar and kitchen staff in a timely manner;
Delivering orders within specified timeframes;
Clearing used cutlery and crockery;
Offering desserts and coffee while upselling;
Billing guests accurately;
Maintaining a clean and hygienic restaurant environment;
Ensuring a clean and professional uniform.
Main requirements:
Grade 12;
Preferably 3 years of previous waiter/waitress experience in a similar environment;
Basic knowledge of wine & surrounding wine regions;
Hands-on experience with cash register and ordering information system;
Basic math's skills;
Excellent interpersonal- & communication skills;
Strong customer service orientation, active listener & must be well-presented;
Attentive and patience for customers;
Comfortable in dealing with very distinguished clientele;
Flexibility, Accountability & a Enthusiastic personality.
