Our client is a respected luxury safari operation managing an exclusive portfolio of camps and concessions across some of Botswana’s most iconic wildlife areas. With a genuine commitment to conservation, responsible land stewardship and exceptional guest experiences, they operate at high standards across multiple concession areas — and they take their environmental obligations seriously. This is a senior, hands-on role with real scope and responsibility for someone who is as comfortable in the field as they are behind a report. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will oversee the full concession and environmental management function — encompassing ecological monitoring, concession compliance, DWNP and BDF liaison, fire and water management, road network oversight, patrol coordination using EarthRanger, NGO and researcher engagement, waste and sustainability practices, and environmental reporting. The role also includes staff training on conservation awareness, guest and agent engagement, and supporting the communication of the company’s conservation work. A partner will be considered depending on their skill sets. ???????????? Degree or 3-year diploma in Environmental Science, Conservation Biology, Ecology, Natural Resource Management, Protected Area Management, Wildlife Management or a related qualification. Minimum 5 years’ experience in conservation management, concession management, reserve management, ecological monitoring or protected area operations. Strong working knowledge of Botswana’s protected area framework, DWNP requirements, concession compliance, environmental legislation and permit obligations. Practical field knowledge of wildlife, vegetation, water systems, fire management, road networks, erosion control and habitat management. Experience working with parks authorities, government departments, NGOs, researchers and community stakeholders. Ability to prepare clear written reports, action plans, incident records, monitoring data and compliance documentation. Comfortable with GPS, maps and conservation monitoring platforms such as EarthRanger. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills — able to work effectively with staff, government officials, conservation partners, guests and agents. Good field skills: off-road driving, remote-area navigation and practical problem solving. Valid driver’s licence; first aid and fire awareness training advantageous.
