Job Summary
? ?? ??????????? ??????????? is partnering with a remote beach and wildlife lodge on Mozambique’s wild southern coast, to recruit an adventurous, hands-on and hospitality-loving ????? ?????????? ?????? This is something rare – a barefoot-luxury beach and wildlife lodge tucked between the Indian Ocean and an unfenced coastal national park on Mozambique’s wild southern shoreline. Days move easily between snorkelling a house reef just off the sand, diving the only operation on this stretch of coast, watching turtles come ashore on one of the country’s main nesting beaches, and heading into the bush on safari game drives through genuine wilderness. The owners are quietly building one of the most distinctive new properties on the continent – deeply personal, conservation-led, and set to become one of southern Africa’s most-talked-about openings. This is a chance to get in early on a launch and growing brand that is likely to gather real attention and press. The successful couple will lead lodge operations end-to-end alongside the owners – running the property day-to-day, hosting guests with warmth and curiosity, building a strong, predominantly local team, and helping shape every detail of what the guest experience looks and feels like here. The position has recently been elevated from the original assistant brief to a full lodge management couple role, making this a genuine step-up opportunity for the right pair. Complementary specialist skills are warmly welcomed and put to good use – front of house, maintenance, diving, marine and wildlife interest, spa, or guiding all add real value in a property of this nature. Ideal for an adventurous, outdoors-oriented couple who genuinely love wild places, guest interaction, and the slower rhythms of remote lodge life. Key Responsibilities · Lead day-to-day lodge operations alongside the owners, with full accountability for the guest experience · Host guests personally – beach, bush, and table – bringing wild places to life through warm, knowledgeable storytelling · Help shape and grow a distinctive, owner-led lodge identity through pre-opening and into the launch phase · Build, train, and lead a happy, motivated, predominantly local team · Coordinate guest activities across the full marine and wildlife offering – house reef snorkelling, scuba diving, turtle nesting encounters, safari game drives, and beach time · Drive standards across food & beverage, housekeeping, hosting, and maintenance without losing the relaxed, barefoot soul of the property · Establish lean, practical systems and procedures suited to a remote, owner-led operation · Champion the lodge’s conservation, sustainability, and community ethos · Manage stock, suppliers, and logistics in a true wilderness setting · Help position and grow what is set to become a well-known and PR-worthy African beach and bush brand Couple Requirements (Essential) · A genuine love of wild places, the outdoors, and people – happy living and working remotely on a beach inside a national park · Wildlife knowledge is essentially a must – confident talking guests through both bush and beach experiences · Solid hospitality background within boutique lodges, safari camps, beach properties, or other experiential travel · Hands-on leadership style – comfortable on the floor, on the beach, and in the bush, rather than behind a desk · Complementary skills across the couple are a real plus – front of house, maintenance, diving (PADI or instructor an advantage), marine interest, spa, guiding, or F&B · Warm, low-ego personalities; happy to host guests one-on-one and lead by example · Comfortable in a pre-opening / early-stage environment; able to build culture, standards, and a sense of place from the ground up · A formal qualification of some form (helpful for Mozambican work permits – university level not required) · A stable background with contactable references Package – Negotiable depending on experience Start Date – ASAP PLEASE NOTE – Although we appreciate all applications, we will only reply to those candidates who meet our clients specific requirements. Thank you for your understanding
