WE'RE HIRING | Sales Representative – Plumbing Industry

Location: East London, Eastern Cape | Regional Travel Required

Global Recruitment SA is recruiting on behalf of a well-established client in the plumbing and building products industry.

We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Sales Representative with specialist knowledge of plumbing products and fittings, as well as a strong understanding of the Eastern Cape market, particularly the Transkei region.

The successful candidate will be based in East London and responsible for developing sales and maintaining customer relationships across East London, Queenstown, Port Alfred, King William’s Town, the Transkei and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop new business opportunities and grow the existing customer base.

• Build and maintain relationships with plumbers, contractors, merchants and other trade customers.

• Promote and sell plumbing products, fittings and related solutions.

• Provide accurate product advice and recommend suitable plumbing products to customers.

• Conduct regular client visits throughout the designated territory.

• Identify market opportunities, generate leads and increase regional sales.

• Prepare quotations, follow up on enquiries and manage customer accounts.

• Achieve sales targets and contribute to business growth.

• Monitor competitor activity and identify opportunities to increase market share.

• Maintain accurate sales records and provide regular reports.

Essential Requirements

• Direct experience within the plumbing industry is essential.

• Strong working knowledge of plumbing products, fittings and related components is essential.

• In-depth knowledge of the Transkei region, including its geographical areas and customer market, is essential.

• Must be based in East London, Eastern Cape.

• Must be willing and able to travel regularly to East London, Queenstown, Port Alfred, King William’s Town, the Transkei and surrounding areas.

• Proven sales experience, preferably in external sales, technical sales or business development.

• Demonstrated ability to generate new business, build customer relationships and achieve sales targets.

• Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.

• A valid driver’s licence is essential.

Advantageous

• An established network of plumbers, contractors and trade customers in the Eastern Cape.

• Experience selling plumbing fittings, pipes, valves, sanitaryware and related products.

• A proven track record of growing sales across a regional territory.
