Lodge Manager – Luxury Safari Lodge | Sabi Sands Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced and professional Lodge Manager to oversee the daily operations of a world-class luxury safari lodge located in the prestigious Sabi Sands Game Reserve. The successful candidate will be a dynamic leader with a passion for creating exceptional guest experiences and maintaining the highest standards of hospitality in a remote bush environment. Key Responsibilities: Guest Experience & Service Act as a visible and hands-on host, engaging with guests daily to ensure a personalised and memorable stay. Maintain the highest standards of guest care and satisfaction, ensuring all feedback is addressed constructively. Respond promptly and professionally to guest queries, complaints, and special requests. Manage relationships with VIP guests, travel partners, and media visits. Conduct regular guest briefings and ensure all lodge activities and experiences run smoothly. Lodge Operations Oversee the coordination and communication between all lodge departments to ensure seamless operations. Maintain and enforce service standards and procedures aligned with company expectations. Ensure the lodge is always presented in pristine condition and operational efficiency is maintained. Staff Leadership & Development Lead; train, and motivate the lodge team to achieve excellence in performance and service delivery. Conduct regular performance reviews and support team members in their professional growth. Foster a positive, collaborative, and inclusive working environment across all departments. Financial & Stock Controls Support the management of lodge budgets, stock control, and procurement processes. Monitor and manage operating costs, ensuring financial efficiency without compromising guest experience. Maintain supplier relationships and ensure all financial procedures are adhered to. Compliance & Standards Ensure compliance with all company health, safety, and environmental policies. Oversee adherence to sustainability initiatives, including waste, water, and energy management. Implement and maintain HR policies and operational procedures in line with company standards. Communication & Reporting Participate in regular management meetings, providing detailed feedback on operations, staffing, and guest satisfaction. Prepare reports for senior management as required, ensuring accuracy and transparency. Required Skills & Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a senior lodge management or guest services role within a 5-star safari or luxury hospitality environment. Proven ability to deliver high levels of guest satisfaction and operational excellence. Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail. Professional; adaptable, and capable of working in a remote environment. Valid driver’s licence and own transport. Proficient in MS Office and property management systems. Package: Competitive salary, negotiable depending on experience. Live-in accommodation provided.
