Job Summary
Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and service-driven Assistant Front of House Manager for a highly regarded luxury wine estate restaurant in Constantia. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate hospitality professional to join a dynamic team within one of the Cape’s most established food and wine destinations. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing daily front-of-house operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, maintaining service standards, and supporting the management and development of the FOH team. Key Requirements: • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar management role within a high-end restaurant or luxury hospitality environment • Hospitality qualification advantageous • WSET Level 2 or strong wine knowledge highly beneficial • Strong leadership and people management skills • Excellent communication and guest relations abilities • Highly organised with strong attention to detail • Energetic, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment • Experience with reservation systems such as DinePlan advantageous Key Responsibilities: Front of House Operations • Oversee and coordinate daily FOH service operations • Ensure all food and beverage service meets the restaurant’s luxury standards • Manage rosters, staffing levels, and shift operations • Monitor cleanliness, presentation, and maintenance standards throughout the restaurant • Support management with implementing operational procedures and service standards Guest Experience • Deliver warm, attentive, and professional guest service at all times • Build strong relationships with guests and handle complaints effectively • Maintain a visible presence on the floor during service periods Reservations & Administration • Oversee reservations and ensure accurate booking management • Work closely with hosts and reservation staff to maximise covers and guest flow • Assist with reporting, cash-ups, handovers, and operational administration Stock & Team Management • Assist with stock control, beverage management, and supplier relationships • Monitor breakages, wastage, and variances • Lead, motivate, and develop the FOH team through hands-on management and training This role would suit a polished hospitality professional with a genuine passion for food, wine, service excellence, and team leadership.
