Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced Intermediate or Senior Sales & Reservations Consultant to join a highly regarded luxury African travel company specialising in tailor-made journeys throughout Southern and East Africa. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate travel professional who enjoys designing exceptional, high-end itineraries and has an in-depth understanding of Africa’s leading safari destinations. The successful candidate will manage the full sales and reservations process, working closely with clients, suppliers and internal teams to deliver seamless, personalised travel experiences. This is a fully remote, work-from-home position based in South Africa. Candidates must have access to reliable internet connectivity and a stable electricity supply at their own cost. A company laptop and additional screen will be provided. Minimum Requirements A minimum of five years’ sales consulting experience within the luxury travel or safari industry Extensive destination knowledge of South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Zambia – essential and non-negotiable Knowledge of East Africa, Mozambique and Malawi would be advantageous Proven experience managing the full booking process, from initial enquiry and quotation through to invoicing, supplier confirmations and payment follow-up Previous experience handling group bookings and tour series Experience using Travel Studio and Wetu would be advantageous Strong sales, negotiation, influencing and cross-selling skills Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and turnaround times The ability to manage key client accounts and work independently with minimal supervision Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel Excellent written and spoken English The ability to support and mentor junior team members A stable employment history with fully contactable references Key Responsibilities Manage the full sales, consultation and reservation process for allocated clients Design creative, customised itineraries in line with client requirements and company standards Act as the main point of contact for assigned client accounts Build strong client relationships and provide professional, knowledgeable destination advice Achieve agreed sales targets and maintain strong enquiry-to-booking conversion rates Prepare accurate quotations, invoices and booking documentation Liaise with suppliers to confirm availability, rates and services Follow up on outstanding client and supplier payments Work closely with the sales, operations and finance teams to ensure smooth service delivery Maintain accurate sales records, booking information and pipeline reports Participate in the rotating after-hours standby and reservations duty schedule Provide guidance and support to junior members of the team when required Working Hours Monday to Friday: 08:00 to 17:00 Rotational shift week covering the after-hours emergency line and reservations inbox Saturday duty during shift week from 09:00 to 13:00 Package Market-related basic salary, dependent on experience and current earnings Commission and incentive programme Permanent employment contract Company laptop and additional screen provided This position would suit a confident, commercially minded travel professional who is passionate about Africa, thrives in a target-driven environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional service from the first enquiry through to the client’s return home.
