Aspire Recruiting is currently partnering with a prominent industrial manufacturing enterprise to source a highly skilled and resilient IT Infrastructure & Field Technician. Core Responsibilities:
- Hardware Deployment & User Support: Expertly install, configure, and position essential IT equipment, including routers, desktop workstations, laptops, tablets, and multimedia projectors. You will also provide clear verbal and written operational guidance to end-users post-installation, while ensuring all technical activities strictly adhere to data privacy regulations (POPIA).
- Network Integration: Drive the installation and configuration of complex LAN/WAN network cabling and hardware components, ensuring all network installations align with strict industry parameters, including MOLEX standards.
- Surveillance (CCTV) Operations: Manage the comprehensive lifecycle of onsite CCTV systems, encompassing initial cable routing, electrical connections, technical parameter setup, and ongoing preventative maintenance and fault resolution.
- Fibre Optic Implementation: Perform advanced fibre optic splicing (single and multi-mode), prepare mechanical connectors, and modify or construct fibre installation equipment while diagnosing technical anomalies. Ensure effective cable removal and multi-cable transits.
- Advanced Fault Diagnostics: Conduct systematic testing and rapid fault-finding on diverse technical installations, ensuring all hardware, network, and fibre issues are accurately logged via ticketing systems and promptly resolved.
- Operational & Safety Compliance: Maintain meticulous equipment stock levels and provide critical after-hours, on-call support to ensure continuous 24/7 onsite service delivery. You will strictly adhere to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines, utilise correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and maintain pristine work environments through "clean as you go" practices.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- A valid Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate) or a formally recognised NQF Level 4 equivalent is strictly required.
- A minimum of 3 years of proven operational experience within an active IT environment.
- At least 2 years of dedicated, hands-on exposure executing IT hardware deployment, Network Infrastructure routing, CCTV implementation, and Fibre Optic installations.
- Applicants must possess a valid South African driver’s licence accompanied by personal, reliable transport for required field travel.
