We’re hiring Mechanical Engineer (Downstream Petrochemical) for one of our Leading MNC client in Infrastructure and Services to join their growing team. Please note that this position is based in The Middle East, relocation, accommodation and additional benefits apply.
Our client is seeking individuals in the field of Mechanical Engineering with drive and dedication to make an impact and set the standard for the future of engineering. The challenges will be centred around managing small fast-paced projects primarily involving fixed equipment (primarily ASME pressure vessels and API tanks, Pipelines). This may includes assisting with calculations, design, updating standards, acquiring resources, and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan and on budget.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical analysis, troubleshooting, and engineering solutions under the guidance of a Senior Engineer or Project Supervisor in accordance with client engineering standards and industry best practices.
- Review, update, and implement modifications to engineering models and drawings based on project requirements and supervisory recommendations.
- Perform detailed engineering calculations using both manual methods and recognized industry-standard design software to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Conduct technical research to support design development; analyze engineering challenges and recommend practical, cost-effective solutions aligned with project objectives.
- Collaborate proactively with multidisciplinary engineering teams to address technical issues, resolve design conflicts, and manage scope changes efficiently.
- Coordinate, organize, and monitor project deliverables across multiple assignments, ensuring adherence to schedules, quality requirements, and reporting standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant international codes, standards, and industry practices, and communicate key updates to the team.
- Interface with other engineering disciplines (process, civil, electrical, instrumentation) to ensure integrated and optimized project execution.
- Liaise with vendors and suppliers to obtain technical information, evaluate services, and ensure compliance with project specifications and procurement requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of continuous experience in the petrochemical, oil & gas, or refinery sector, preferably within EPC or owner-operator environments.
- Familiarity with internationally recognized engineering codes and standards such as ASME, API, and ISO is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical reporting skills, with the ability to contribute to complex engineering projects.
- Effective communication and coordination skills, with experience working in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments.
