Head Chef | Canal Walk | Premium Entertainment We are seeking an ambitious, dynamic HEAD CHEF to take complete ownership of a small but high-spec kitchen and lead the culinary brigade of this new opening venue in Canal Walk, Cape Town. This isn't your typical kitchen environment. You will be designing and executing a sophisticated, high-end menu that caters to both elevated seated dining and refined, seamless "gaming-friendly" finger foods - without ever compromising on culinary integrity or presentation. What You’ll Do Take Full Kitchen Ownership: Lead, manage, and inspire a small kitchen brigade, fostering a culture of precision, speed, and culinary pride. Menu Innovation: Develop and refine a gourmet dining menu featuring elevated small plates and high-end finger food crafted for a dynamic environment. Operational Leadership: Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, inventory, food cost controls, supplier relations, and strict hygiene standards (HACCP). Maintain High Standards: Ensure every plate coming out of the pass matches our upscale aesthetic and rigorous quality standards, especially during high-volume periods. Schedule Efficiency: Manage kitchen rosters to align with our daily operating hours (10:00 AM – 10:00 PM), ensuring smooth service from morning prep to late-night gaming peak. Who You Are An Experienced Leader: You have a proven track record as a Head Chef or strong Senior Sous Chef in an upscale, high-volume, or fine-dining environment. Master of Elevated Comfort & Gourmet Plates: You understand how to make food that is visual, indulgent, and easy to enjoy while maintaining fine-dining execution. A Smart Kitchen Operator: You know how to maximize space and efficiency in a small kitchen footprint without sacrificing quality. A Natural Brigade Leader: You lead by example, coach your team, and keep cool under pressure.
